Scouts give treats to their Hometown Heroes, Douglas County Sheriff's Office

Carson Valley Cub Scouts Pack 33 presented Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini with treats for the deputies on patrol, jail and investigative personnel.

“I am delighted that you all came by to see us and we want to thank you for all the hours of hard work that you did to bring us these treats for us," said Sheriff Pierini. "You are our heroes because you thought of us and did this for us.”

Kudos: First Responders team up with Cub Scout Pack 592

Cub Scout Pack 592 of South Lake Tahoe held their fifth annual Police and Fire Night at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall on November 14.

Scouts were able to see first-hand the tools and techniques that first responders use to keep the community safe and how they work together when someone needs help.

Taxpayer Watchdogs to host fundraising reception for Dan Dellinger

Taxpayer Watchdogs For Dan Dellinger Recorder-Clerk will be hosting a “Campaign Launch” fundraising reception at Crystal Basin Winery in Camino on Wednesday Evening November 15 from 5:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Donation is $60 couples and $35 for singles with the proceeds going to help pay for important campaign material such as signs and voter education brochures to help elect Dellinger. All people interested in helping Dellinger improve County government and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse, are encouraged to attend and support Dellinger’s election.

Local scouts learn campfire safety from Smokey the Bear

Smokey Bear and the Tallac Hotshots teamed up with local South Lake Tahoe Cub Scout Pack 592 to teach them about campfire safety. The scouts and their parents learned how to safely prepare and extinguish a campfire. Several Tallac Hotshots were on hand to show the parents how to put out a campfire using the “Soak, Stir, Feel, Repeat” method.
