Steve Miller Band returns to Lake Tahoe for outdoor concert
Submitted by paula on Tue, 02/19/2019 - 12:18pmSTATELINE, Nev. - Classic rock meets classic country on August 24 when the Steve Miller Band returns to the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys with Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives.
Steve Miller is responsible for so many popular mainstays in the music scene including Living in the U.S.A., Take the Money and Run, Fly Like an Eagle, Jet Airliner and Space Cowboy.
The concert will start at 7:00 p.m.
Stuart is a country music singer-songwriter, known for both his traditional style, and eclectic merging of rockabilly, honky tonk, and traditional country music.

The show, a revue of contemporary and classic Broadway tunes performed by some of Lake Tahoe’s best singing and acting talent, was created by Gabriella Giocomo especially for Valhalla. Giocomo was one of three finalists in Valhalla’s WordWave One-Act play script competition in 2017. When she came for the stage reading hosted at the Boathouse Theatre she was inspired by the space and submitted the show in the winter of 2018 for review by Valhalla.

If you have never been, this should be the year. Sit in the sand and enjoy not only great productions on the Warren Edward Trepp Stage at water's edge, but also an eclectic food and beverage area (or bring your own).
Two shows will be on the stage, alternating nights, Tuesday-Sunday through August 27.

They are looking for actors of all ages and ethnic backgrounds for this award-winning musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and book by John Michael Tebelak.

Located in the hip, CalAve District wedged between downtown and midtown Reno, the museum offers locals to the region a taste of world-class art collections. During events like Art Town (a marathon of a hundred-or-so art related events in Reno during the month of July), the museum offers innumerable pieces from local and global artists alike.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, in Silver City. Gathering, gnoshing and remembering will begin at the Silver City Community Center, 385 High Street, at 10:00 a.m. Food and refreshments will be provided. Those who wish may bring more.
