Tahoe Blizzardfest to have art on the beach, pray for snow party and concert

Tahoe Blizzardfest is the convergence of art and elements and a "Pray for Snow" celebration on the shores of South Lake Tahoe November 13-14 at the Beach Retreat & Lodge.

From live music to movie screenings, to eclectic lakefront art installations and fun activities, the unique festival has something for everyone who loves art, outdoors and snowsports.

There will be an Art Expo - Savor the views and sample amazing art installations by renowned regional artists, all set against the backdrop of majestic Lake Tahoe.

And a Music Expo - DJ's will set the mood throughout the event -- Drop Theory and Smoked Out Soul will take the stage on Saturday (11/14) eve at the all new Beach Retreat Events Center.

Plus a Snow Expo - Check out the latest ski & snowboard gear, snag a new set-up on the cheap, and join us to celebrate the kick-off of the 15/16 ski season in Tahoe!

Friday November 13

Liberty (R)evolution Returns Art Unveiling | On the Beach | 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Join us on the beach to participate in the official unveiling of Liberty (R)evolution Returns -- a unique 'Fire Inside' art collection by Timeless Sculptures. Set against the backdrop of Lake Tahoe and a star-filled sky, enjoy a truly unique art experience blending art and fire -- including the 30ft tall "Hand of Order" masterpiece. Free admission, music, warming barrels, and drink & food specials available!

El Nino' Welcome Party | Beach Retreat Event Center | 7pm - 11pm
Presented by Shoreline of Tahoe and Volcom, the night kicks-off in the all-new Events Center with DJ's, food and drink specials, and raffles. At 8pm, two back-to-back movie screenings will take center stage featuring The Balance Movie and Eversince.

Doors open at 7pm with food & drink specials, raffle prizes and DJ Nick Roger setting the mood. Movie screenings start at 8pm and tickets are just $10 and include one free raffle ticket - over $2,000 in prizes are up for grabs and raffle proceeds benefit the USASA South Tahoe Series! Saturday, November 14

ART Expo | Beach Retreat Event Center | 11am - 8pm
On November 13-14th, the Beach Retreat & Lodge transforms into a unique collage of art ranging from mammoth and beautiful statue art on the beach to captivating art displays and performances. Art by renowned regional artists including Reds Regan, Peter Hazel, and Timeless Sculptures, among others, will be on display throughout the 7 acre property. Admission is free - join us to celebrate the upcoming winter season!

SNOW Expo | Beach Retreat Event Center | 11am - 4pm
Join us on November 14th and check-out the latest gear by various outdoor, lifestyle, and snowsports companies. In addition, over 50 vintage snowboards will be on display representing 30+ years of innovation and iconic snowboard art. Admission is FREE!

BlizzardFest Olympics | On the Beach | 2pm - 4pm
Prestige, honor, bragging rights -- take part in the first-ever BlizzardFest Olympics and vie for huge prizes! Activities include fun feats of strength with a ski-town flair and good times; all taking place on the beach! Do you have what it takes to be the Downhill Ski Javelin Throw Champion? On powder days, do you set land-speed records trekking across the parking lot in your ski boots? If so, grab 3 of your buddies (teams of 4) and partake in the Ski Boot Relay race, among other activities. Snow or Shine. All-ages welcome, disciplines for kids and adults. DJ Nick Roger will be spinning tunes, food & drink specials, and prizes!

Pray for Snow Burn | On the Beach | 4pm - 8pm
Join us on the beach to celebrate the upcoming winter season with a unique Pray for Snow Burn featuring Fire Inside art by Timeless Sculptures. Free admission, music, warming barrels, and drink & food specials available!

BlizzardFest Concert - Live Music by Drop Theory and Smoked Out Soul | 8pm - 2am
Smoked Out Soul (S.O.S) is a one of kind show led by DJ /guitarist “Zebuel” Early. Add drummers Paul Oliphant and Enrique Padilla along with live horns from the likes of Will Magid and Teddy Raven and you have a sound that is both classic and futuristic: “Old School Taste, New School Bass”.

Drop Theory hails from North Lake Tahoe and they GOT THE FUNK! Their infectious, high-energy music fuses the solid gold sounds of past decades with modern style.

Doors open at 8pm with a DJ, food and drink specials. Concert starts at 9pm - tickets are just $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Space is limited - buy tickets online!
