The order was created to protect the health and well-being of all Californians and to establish consistency across the state in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Some people may be confused and hear different messages and wonder exactly what are "essential services". To list what the State order covered they have come out with a guideline to help navigate these unchartered waters.

Farmers markets return to South Lake Tahoe

First market to open is the Lake Tahoe Market on Wednesday, May 24 at Kahle Community Park, 236 Kingsbury Grade near the state line from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They will be open on Wednesdays through the summer.
Farmers Markets return to the South Shore

On Friday, the popular Ski Run Blvd market opens for their seventh season at 3:00 p.m. Food, crafts, fruit and vegetables will be featured in the middle of the block in front of Blue Angel Cafe. This market will be on all Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. through September 30. For more information, visit their website www.skirunfarmersmarket.com.
Money secured for Hwy 89 improvement projects at Meeks Bay and Tahoe City

Weekly farmers markets in South Lake Tahoe

The Tuesday market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is operated by El Dorado County Farmers' Markets and is held at the American Legion located at 2732 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Senior's Farmers Market Check Booklets Available in South Lake Tahoe

The El Dorado County Area Agency on Aging has a limited supply of Senior Farmers' Market check booklets available for qualified El Dorado County Seniors. Farmers' Market check booklets will be distributed on first come, first served basis to seniors who are at least 60 years of age and meet income guidelines (one person household with annual income less than $21,590 or two person household with income less than $29,101).
Cultured Kitchen Cheeses Recalled Due to Salmonella Risk

The products were sold in natural food stores throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada, and at farmers markets in Sacramento and have an expiration dates of on or before April 19, 2014.
Council Votes to Ban Single Use Plastic Bags in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Tue, 10/01/2013 - 4:13pmWith a vote of 3 to 2 in favor, the City Council today voted to ban single use carry out plastic bags in the South Lake Tahoe city limits. This issue was passionately debated by council members and the 8 citizens that offered their comment during today's City Council meeting. The city council is expected to finalize the ordinance later this month. The ban will take effect in grocery stores and farmers markets three months after adoption and will apply to all retail establishments after one year. Pharmacies,restaurants, and non-profits are exempted.
El Dorado to step up enforcement on out-of-county roadside vendors

“We are seeing an influx of vendors from outside of the county,” said El Dorado County Agriculture Commissioner Charlene Carveth. “In most instances, roadside dealers are not selling produce that is locally grown, or in compliance with basic local and state food safety requirements.”
