April 23, 2023 (All day) EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – The El Dorado Winery Association’s Passport to the Great Out There returns for its 32nd year on April 22-23, 2023. The popular annual event allows guests to experience 20 family-owned wineries throughout El Dorado County, with each winery offering signature food and wine tastings, reserve wines, and other surprises. After a switch to a reservation-based event in 2021, Passport will return to its original Open House format.

Soroptimists giving away $25,000 in grants to local non-profits

SISLT has invited local tax-exempt, nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations to apply for grant funding for Community Service projects and programs.

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the 12th Annual Grapes and Gates wine tasting event on May 8 at the Edgewood Clubhouse’s North Room. Enjoy a beautiful Lake Tahoe sunset while tasting exquisite regional wines and gourmet foods from the area’s top restaurants.

Friday, August 31st kicks off Sample the Sierra with a Winemaker and Chef’s Table dinner at Crystal Basin Bistro in Camino on the Western Slope of the Sierras. Saturday, September 1st hosts a Sip & Shop at Après Wine Company featuring the award winning wines of Synapse “Microwinery” and locally made gifts.

This year, 15 local restaurants and farmers will be paired together to produce mouthwatering samples for festival-goers to enjoy. Each food sample will be paired with an accompanying wine, also local to the region.
