Tahoe Family Solutions Receives $25K Health Care Grant
Submitted by Editor on Thu, 04/19/2012 - 7:23pmTahoe Family Solutions announced today that they have received a $25,000 grant from United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra to address the fast growing need for affordable mental health care throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin and surrounding communities in Nevada and California. Tahoe Family Solutions services in providing affordable psychiatric care and family counseling were rated as a top priority by UWNNS’s board and volunteers.

Earlier this year, Barton closed their Carson City and Carson Valley operations of Home Health & Hospice. Barton Health has provided home health and hospice services to the Carson Valley and its surrounding areas since 1987, but with declining reimbursements and increasing regulations on home health and hospice services it has become cost-prohibitive to cover such a large area.

The Festival of Trees and Lights is occurring from December 3-5 at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. The festival is fast becoming the event of the season in South Lake Tahoe! As a fundraiser supporting the good works of Barton Health the event is also a wonderful way for volunteers and attendees alike to give back during the holiday season. This year, we are excited that once again all monies raised will go to support the Barton Community Clinic which provides health services to low-income individuals.
