Barton continues Home Health and Hospice services at Lake Tahoe

Barton Health continues to provide quality home health and hospice services at Lake Tahoe. Earlier this year, Barton closed their Carson City and Carson Valley operations of Home Health & Hospice. Barton Health has provided home health and hospice services to the Carson Valley and its surrounding areas since 1987, but with declining reimbursements and increasing regulations on home health and hospice services it has become cost-prohibitive to cover such a large area. Barton will continue to provide quality health services in the Carson City and Valley areas including orthopedics, gynecology and obstetrics.
Barton Health will continue to run its home health and hospice services in the South Lake Tahoe area, which includes Glenbrook, Zephyr Cove, Stateline, South Lake Tahoe and Meyers. In addition, Barton will cover the areas of Markleeville and Woodfords in Alpine County. Barton Home Health & Hospice will retain both their California and Nevada licenses. The same quality of care and oversight will continue in these areas. Retaining services in the South Lake Tahoe area will allow for our excellent continuum of care for our hospital patients and the core community that surrounds the hospital.
Barton Home Health & Hospice will not be accepting additional referrals for residents in the Valley. Patients who live in the Carson City and Carson Valley area and have care from Barton Health and it’s entities will be referred to qualified home health and hospice agencies for continued quality care at home.
