July 8, 2016 - 8:30pm Join Tahoe Heritage Foundation and the US Forest Service for the Friday Evening Program Summer series. This Friday July 8, Tracy Salcedo-Chourre, author of Best Easy Day Hikes Lake Tahoe, as she shares her knowledge of the amazing hiking trails around Lake Tahoe. This event will be held at Taylor Creek Visitor Center at 8:30 p.m. and is open to the public. There is a $5.00 donation to the Tahoe Heritage Foundation.
Desolation Wilderness Talk at SLT Library

June 15, 2013 - 1:30pm The Friends of the Library will host a talk on Desolation Wilderness. This afternoon event, is presented by Bill Finch, volunteer backcountry wilderness ranger for the U.S. Forest Service. He will show slides which he believes best exemplify the natural beauty found so close to South Lake Tahoe. He will share his wilderness expertise, preparing us for a summer of hiking in this spectacular area.
