What is being developed from public meetings and an online survey will create the profile of what makes up the desired characteristics neede or the person who will move into Dr. James Tarwater's position when he retires in June 2020.
SLTPD opens police officer positions: Get paid to attend police academy

The City of South Lake Tahoe is looking for officers to fill a void created with the departure of four trained officers to other jurisdictions. If hired, candidates will get paid to attend the police academy and start with an annual salary of $63,505.52.

“We have special programs and services for youth ages 16 to 24,” said Jenny Wilson, Program Supervisor with Connections - One Stop. “We are especially looking to assist youth ages 16 to 24 who are not currently enrolled in school.” Through the youth program, unemployed and underemployed youth can receive help with job searches and placement, paid on-the-job training, money for vocational or technical school tuition and more.
Senior citizens invited to apply for jobs in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Thu, 11/19/2015 - 11:00pmThe local American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) office is currently seeking applicants for their South Lake Tahoe work training program. All applicants must be 55 and older, meet low income qualifications and apply through AARP.
They will be filling several jobs including a receptionist position at the Senior Center located at 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Once applicants have been qualified through AARP, SLT Recreation Manager Lauren Thomaselli will be conducting interviews.
South Tahoe High Principal Promoted to LTUSD Assistant Superintendent
Submitted by paula on Wed, 04/23/2014 - 3:09pmIvonne Larson, the Principal of South Tahoe High, was named Assistant Superintendent by the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board on Tuesday, April 22. She will be in charge of Secondary Education, Career Technical Education and AVID for the district starting July 1, 2014.
This is the first time LTUSD has had an Assistant Superintendent since Barbara Davis resigned in August of 2005. The new position for Assistant Superintendent is part time.
The District will post a job opening for STHS Principal this week to replace Larson.

The Coalition Coordinator will mobilize the community to prevent and reduce youth substance use by effectively representing the Coalition and building partnerships and support in the community.
