SOUTH LAKE TAHOE – The winners of the 10th annual Blue Ribbon Awards were announced Thursday night at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. Over 300 community members attended to celebrate the winners of seven awards that honor outstanding South Shore businesses, organizations and individuals for civic contributions, tourism experiences, customer service and entrepreneurial achievements.

The following are the winners of the 10th annual Blue Ribbon Awards:

Every year for two weeks, hundreds of Lake Tahoe residents and visitors park their cars and ride their bikes to work, school, and for fun. Participants in the Tahoe Bike Challenge, which runs from June 1 to June 14, track their miles and join the friendly competition for fun prizes and bragging rights.

Despite smoky skies, South Lake Tahoe was still a hot spot this Labor Day Weekend. The 4th Annual Sample the Sierra festival brought in masses of people to taste the unique flavors of the Sierra Nevada. The kickoff Winemakers Dinner at Bumgarner Winery spoiled attendees with a five course meal prepared in the wood fired oven with each course appropriately paired with one of Bumgarner’s fine wines. Saturday’s Sip & Shop at Après Wine Company drew more than 20 people to taste C.G. Di Arie wines and gourmet cheeses.

Live at Lakeview: Free Summer Concert Series at El Dorado/Lakeview Commons Beach: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Presented by OnCourse. Featured events and Lake Tahoe TV will be on hand. Spectators can sit – for free – on the terraced area or up top where there are picnic tables. Beer garden, food vendors and local artists. Free bike valet. July 12: Reggae and ska music with Keyser Soze. Highway 50 and Lakeview Avenue, South Lake Tahoe.

Tahoe Regional Young Professionals (TRYP) will bring the Lake Tahoe community together to raise funds for Tahoe Youth & Family Services, Saturday, November 19 from 6 - 10 p.m. at Riva Grill on the Lake. The event will focus on making one family’s holiday wishes come true.
