Sample the Sierra featured Labor Day weekend at South Lake Tahoe

Delight your senses at the fourth Annual Sample the Sierra, South Lake Tahoe’s only farm-to-fork festival, Labor Day weekend.

Sample the Sierra brings together local chefs, farmers, and winemakers in an irresistible tasting trifecta. To complement the infusion of flavors, a marketplace will feature local artists and artisans showcasing everything from handmade soaps to jewelry, alpaca apparel to fine art. Live music will entertain all and allows festivalgoers a chance to experience the truly unique talent that the Sierra Nevada boasts.

Make plans to be in South Lake Tahoe on September 1, to experience the flavors of the Sierra Nevada region. From 1-5pm, tasting booths lining Ski Run Boulevard will feature chefs preparing food samples using fresh ingredients provided by local farmers and producers. Indulge in the variety of foods, expertly paired alongside local wines and brews. Back for the second year, the Sierra Chef Challenge will place two top chefs on stage to battle it out in a creative culinary challenge. Each chef will be presented with a mystery box of seasonable ingredients and will have 45 minutes to entertain the crowd while creating a delectable dish.
