Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks the Filipino community
Submitted by admin on Fri, 04/06/2018 - 2:43pmOn March 29t, Bread & Broth’s Monday Meal diners had a special treat, a delicious Filipino themed dinner. The evening’s meal was lovingly prepared and served by the Filipino Community members for their annual Adopt-A-Day of Nourishment sponsorship. This fantastic group served up teriyaki chicken and vegetables, chicken adobo, steamed rice, coleslaw topped off with delicious desserts to the 93 attending dinner guests. Needless to say, there were no ‘leftovers’ at the end of the meal.

The community is invited to a special Good Friday performance of “The Living Last Words,” a dramatic musical experience commemorating the Seven Last Words of Christ, written by Ruth Elaine Schram, with music direction by Maureen Leonard, and stage direction by Susan Boulanger. This free performance will be presented on Friday, March 25 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1041 Lyons Avenue.
Rash of auto thefts in South Lake Tahoe

On Thursday, September 10, a man who lives in the 2400 block of William Avenue called police to report his car stolen. When police arrived, they found out the man had lent the car to someone who hadn't returned it.
The following day, a white Ford F250 with a rack was reported stolen in the 1000 block of William. It has not been recovered and there are no suspects. The Nevada license plate number is NRC917.
Three cars were stolen on Saturday, September 12.

Sierra Recon, a high-energy, multi-distance obstacle race screaming the amped premise, “Everyone loves carnage” is set for July 14 at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort, while the Lake Tahoe Adventure Motorcycle Ride and Rendezvous celebrates the freedom of the wide open road, Aug. 23-26.
