South Tahoe High School has a full day of Halloween activities on Halloween, from costumers during the school day through the final home football game of the season to late night ice skating.

Severe Flu Cases on the Rise in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Tue, 01/07/2014 - 12:10amThe flu season is in full swing in South Lake Tahoe as well as across the country, prompting health officials to warn people of the severity.
This year the predominant flu strain in the United States is H1N1, the same one that caused the international pandemic in 2009-2010. Medical experts believe that this strain will take its toll on children and middle aged adults. So far this winter, 13 deaths have been attributed to the flu in North Carolina. In Hildago, Texas there have already been 6 deaths and 2 in Salt Lake City. Six children have died nationally during this flu season.
Incline Village Resident Wins Trip to Super Bowl

Megan Kasden spoke through tears this week when she answered the phone and found out she had won the Gene Upshaw Memorial Fund Super Bowl raffle. The prize is an all-expense paid trip for two to Super Bowl XLVIII at the Met Life Stadium. The raffle raised $30,000 for traumatic brain injury research and programs and services for cancer patients and families at the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. The same center where Kasden’s husband, Gary had just completed a long series of chemotherapy treatments.

Halloween Fun in South Lake Tahoe Starts This Weekend
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/24/2013 - 9:37amHalloween is always a celebration in South Lake Tahoe and this year is no different. Even though the actual holiday is on Thursday, October 31, the parties and celebrations start in town this weekend. Here is an overview on all that is happening:
Halloween Dance with the Tahoe Dance Band - at the Senior Center on Friday, October 25. The 17 piece dance band will perform big band music, food, drink, costume prizes. 7:30 - 10 pm. $10.
Three sought in South Lake Tahoe motel robbery
Submitted by Editor on Sun, 03/31/2013 - 9:59amSouth Lake Tahoe police are investigating an armed robbery at the Pinewood Lodge that happened late Saturday night.
Three are being sought by police after a woman and two men wearing ski masks robbed the motel at gunpoint, said South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Shannon Laney. It happened at about 11:30 p.m. The suspects, described as a black female and two black males, were armed with a black semi-automatic handgun and a hunting knife. The trio escaped in a Cadillac.

Gas station, USA, robbed at gunpoint in South Lake Tahoe

Suspect 1 pulled out a large revolver type gun on the clerk and demanded money. There were 3 customers in the store at the time. No one was hurt or injured.
