Daffodil Hill closes for the season after just one weekend
Submitted by paula on Sat, 04/06/2019 - 11:25pmFor those waiting for an annual sojourn down State Route 88 to Daffodil Hill, it's time to change your plans. They opened for the season on March 30, not knowing their season would only last two days.
A rainy week has more than dampened spirits, it also damaged the thousands of daffodils lining the four-acre farm owned by the McLaughlin family.
Letter: Looking for tennis players at Tahoe Paradise Park
Submitted by paula on Sun, 06/17/2018 - 3:22pmTahoe Paradise Park is one of the most beautiful sites in the region. It offers a full array of activities including swimming, stand-up paddle, fishing ,picnicking, trail walking, and a playground. Last year pickle ball courts were added and they now draw players regularly.
On the other hand, the tennis court is rarely used.
I would like to see this changed and am inviting tennis players to contact me to set up friendly matches or just to hit. All players regardless of experience or ability are invited.
I can be reached at 530-600-2079 or at acupaiuolo@pace.edu.

Today, this week, this month, this season is all about the fun. It’s summer in Tahoe and the weather is glorious.
Take off your shoes and run in the sand. See how far you can walk out into the lake before your feet tingle with the cold. Grab your beach chair and a book. Ride a jet ski or a mountain bike. Hike a forested trail the ends in an amazing vista. Find a hidden waterfall or cove. Watch nature unfold in all its glory.
