Stand up paddle shop moving into old winery with new wine and coffee bar

It was down to the 11th hour, Chris Brackett had to be out of his South Tahoe Stand Up Paddle location and had no place to go with all of his boards. He was in the same situation as Rude Brothers, the bagel and coffee shop that shared the same location. With the building sold and all tenants given notice to move, both businesses needed to relocate.

Rude Brothers staying open at current location through April

Rude Brothers, the popular bagel and coffee spot in South Lake Tahoe, was set to close March 27 but will keep its doors open on Harrison Avenue through April.

The building housing South Tahoe Stand-Up Paddle and the bagel shop was sold to local investors in February, 2016. At the moment they are waiting for building permits for the remodeling of the two-story building that will make way for new tenants.

Rude Brothers looks for new home after building is sold

The building is old and worn out, but the coffee, bagels and treats inside have kept both locals and visitors happy for over two decades.

Rude Brother's Bagels is located on the bottom floor of a building located at 3117 Harrison Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. The current owners of the popular coffee and bagel shop, Jim and Lisa Gosh, have been in the same location since 2001 after buying the business from Steve Rude.

National Coffee Day - What's popular in South Lake Tahoe?

As if anyone needed a reason to drink coffee, September 29, 2015 is National Coffee Day. It even has it's own hashtag #NationalCoffeeDay.

Before Starbucks opened in March of 1971, the only real choices for a cup of coffee were black, or with cream and/or sugar.
