Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation Announces Freeride Ski Team

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation has announced two new programs for the 2011 – 2012 winter season under the Freestyle umbrella. The Foundation will offer two Freeride program options, the One-Day Program and the Full-Time Competitive Program. These programs are open to intermediate to advanced level skiers aged ten to 18 who have a passion for slopestyle, skiercross and halfpipe training.

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe presents “An Evening of Food & Wine Tasting” Event on Friday, November 11 from 6:00-9:30pm at Harrah's Tahoe Convention Center.
“An Evening of Food & Wine Tasting” raises money to fund many projects and programs sponsored by SISLT. Over 18 local area restaurants and 30 vintners will be showcased. Guests will again have an opportunity to vote for their favorite winery and restaurant.

Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation announces 2011-12 programs, scholarship opportunities

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation has opened registration for the 2011 – 2012 Alpine, Freestyle, Freeride and Snowboard Programs. With a variety of options from the One-Day Program to the Full-Time Competitive Program, the Lake Tahoe foundation has something for all ages and levels of skiers and riders. Registration packets are available online, at the HSSF building, or by calling the HSSF administration office. Those who register and pay in full now will receive the early registration pricing; prices increase $100 on November 1, 2011.

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe to Give $28,000 to Local Nonprofits

Rather than funding many smaller projects as in the past, this year Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe Foundation, Inc. (SISLT) will distribute $28,000 to a maximum of five local nonprofit organizations. The goal of this new approach is to encourage applicants to think big and create increasingly impactful programs for the community.
