It’s happening fast in Reno-Tahoe tourism, from millennials’ growing influence in the marketplace to changing preferences among visitors, according to a new industry analysis.
And the quicker the region embraces it, the better.
“Reno-Lake Tahoe Tourism Industry – Navigating Change,” is a white paper written by South Lake Tahoe-based SMG Consulting and its president, Carl Ribaudo.
Travel Nevada Winter Ad Campaign Highlights Skiing in Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Tue, 12/03/2013 - 10:18pmA brand new winter advertising campaign was launched this week by the Nevada Tourism Commission. The $1.3 million project promotes the Lake Tahoe area as a premier skiing destination.
During the course of the campaign, the ad, which highlights music from the Las Vegas band, the Killers, will be seen this winter on cable and television stations in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas and should be seen by nearly 95 million people.
Nevada governor appoints Lake Tahoe ski industry stalwart John Wagnon to Tourism Commission
Submitted by Editor on Tue, 12/18/2012 - 1:33pmNevada Gov. Brian Sandoval on Tuesday appointed John Wagnon of Vail Resorts and Herb Santos, Jr. to the Nevada Commission on Tourism. Wagnon, a 40-year veteran of the snowsports industry, is senior director of brand marketing for Vail Resorts, Inc at Heavenly Mountain Resort south shore Lake Tahoe and Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
He has served on the on the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, Ski Lake Tahoe and the California Travel Industry Association boards. Wagnon is also a trustee and past chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board.
