The 57th annual Firefighters Ball fundraiser hosted by the Lake Valley Firefighter Foundation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe.
This year's event includes a three-course meal, dancing, a silent auction and live auction. Auctions items include a 2019-2020 ski pass and vacation packages.

Dave McClure 1950~2018
Submitted by paula on Mon, 03/26/2018 - 9:05amDavid Alan McClure passed away from multiple organ failure at Renown Hospital on February 24, 2018.
He was the first born child of Charles and Florence Engstrom McClure in Martinez, Calif., on October 7, 1050. Soon after, they moved to San Francisco, they lived in the student housing quonset huts while Charles got his teaching degree. Four years later they moved to San Anselmo, in Marin County, where the family lived in an Asian pagoda style home until 2016.

It will give pass holders access to many of North America’s top mountain destinations, uniting 12 destinations from Alterra Mountain Company with 11 premier partners.

Three local men arrested in connection with theft of 1,100 Heavenly ski vouchers
Submitted by paula on Tue, 07/19/2016 - 5:28pmAn investigation into the March 10 theft of $116,520 worth of Heavenly Valley ski pass vouchers has led to the arrest of three men on suspicion of conspiracy, felony embezzlement, theft and possession of stolen property.
On July 15 and 16, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office took into custody Tim Jacobsen, 21, of Minden, Nev., Mark Graham, 20 of Gardnerville, Nev., and Angelo Bozin, 25 of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Bail has been set on each man at $10,000.00.

South Tahoe High grad Robbie Gallo and his Vokab Kompany will play for guests at the 54th annual Lake Valley Firefighters Ball and fundraiser on April 8 at MontBleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The whole community is invited to enjoy dancing, a photo booth, silent auction, and grand prize giveaway including a one year all inclusive gym membership to Sierra Athletic Club, and a 2016/2017 Unlimited Sierra at Tahoe Ski Pass
Heavenly receives dusting of snow as season pass sales wrap up
Submitted by paula on Mon, 10/05/2015 - 9:52pmSnow blanketed the highest runs at Heavenly Mountain Resort over the weekend, exciting the inner skier in many. Could this be a sign of what El Nino has in store for Lake Tahoe this year?
While experts have differing opinions, the ski resorts are betting on a big snow year as they wrap up their season pass sales.
October 11 is the last day for Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar resort pass sales which range from $449 for the adult Tahoe Value Pass to $789 for their Epic Pass.
Olympian Jamie Anderson gives back to kids on the South Shore
Submitted by paula on Wed, 02/04/2015 - 11:33pmJamie Anderson continued her Give Back With Love sponsorship program on Tuesday, by giving three local students a dream package of equipment and a ski pass.
Anderson wanted to be present to give the students their prize but, according to Sierra-at-Tahoe, Jamie has been tied up with the X Games and Burton European Open. They wanted to get the kids up on the hill as soon as possible so didn't wait for Anderson's return but she'll join them on the slopes once back in South Lake Tahoe.
SLT man to spend one year in jail and pay $160,000 for worker's comp fraud

284 South Lake Tahoe Students Earn Free Ski Passes to Sierra At Tahoe!

During the 201213 school year 284 students qualified to earn the pass.
Letters are going out to students this week with instructions on how to pick up their free ski pass.
