Tahoe Douglas Rotary donates $20,000 to local nonprofits amidst COVID-19 emergency
Submitted by paula on Fri, 04/10/2020 - 11:37amSTATELINE, Nev. - Due to the catastrophic impact of COVID-19, the Rotary Club of Tahoe-Douglas announced its immediate initial commitment and disbursement of $20,000 in cash grants to four South Lake Tahoe Community proactive support agencies - Tahoe Magic, Christmas Cheer, Giving Angels and Bread & Broth.
The club has been serving the South Shore community since 1965 and just completed an online auction in lieu of their normal annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration.
Updated closures in South Lake Tahoe due to threat of coronavirus COVID 19
Submitted by paula on Wed, 03/11/2020 - 2:09pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The threat of the coronavirus COVID-19 has prompted more events and activities to be postponed or canceled in the South Lake Tahoe area. At this time there are no confirmed cases in El Dorado, Douglas, or Carson City counties.
Lake Tahoe Unified School District
Both concerts scheduled for this week have been canceled.
All upcoming kindergarten tours have been canceled.
Contact individual schools for on-site meetings.
All high school athletic games and meets have been canceled until further notice.
Tahoe Douglas Rotary honors Jonathan Thomas of American Century Investments

On the first tee in between the threesomes of Steph Curry, Justin Timberlake, Tony Romo and AJ Hark, Jordy Nelson, Aaron Rodgers, the local Rotary club presented Thomas with a Paul Harris Fellow.
The award was created by Rotary International for recognition of significant acts of service and generosity.

Join Tahoe Douglas Rotary as they hold their 51st annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Harrah's Convention Center in Stateline, Nev.
They promise an unforgettable night that includes an Irish feast, their famous beer and wine wall, silent auction, live entertainment and a St. Patrick’s Day themed costume and beard contest with a shot at a trip to Hawaii.
This year's special Local Hero honoree is none other than the Angel of Tahoe, Lisa Maloff.

Tahoe Douglas Rotary holds 49th annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club is holding their 49th annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Convention Center from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17.
It started with a wine and cheese party on the second floor of Dart Liquor and it has morphed over the years into one of the top annual fundraisers on the South Shore.
600 people are expected at the evening full of food, fun, dancing and drinking, all in the name of community to raise funds for the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club's scholarships and grant programs.
Tahoe Douglas Rotary gives out community awards

On Friday, local non-profits were handed the fruits of the Rotarian's labor at their annual community donation day.
