Event Date:
March 13, 2015 - 6:00pm
The 47th Annual Tahoe Douglas Rotary's St. Patrick's Day Celebration has some added extras this year to make this time honored tradition even more fun than usual.
On March 13, 2015, the Rotarians will open the doors at Harrah's Tahoe to the public who will be treated to the first ever First Responders Recognition evening tied into the traditional St. Patrick's Day event.
Hero Awards will be given to local law enforcement and fire professionals from Tahoe Douglas Fire, South Lake Tahoe Fire, Lake Valley Fire, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, South Lake Tahoe Police Department and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. One person from each agency will be honored at the event as well as a large donation made to the local non-profit of their choice.
During the evening the Rotary Club will be highlighting special auction items that cannot be purchased anywhere. Two front section VIP tickets to every concert at the Harvey's Outdoor Concert Arena in the summer of 2015 will be one of the "big ticket" items attendees can bid on. Also on the auction block is celebrity treatment at the 2015 American Century Golf Championship at Edgewood Tahoe which will include receiving the same gifts the celebrities receive. The third big item is a week on a houseboat on Lake Powell.
There will also be trips, dinners and other special items available for bids during the silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction support projects, grants, scholarships, and other needs in the local South Shore Lake Tahoe community.
Tickets are available for $75 each of tables of ten for $600. Table discounts are available until February 14 and admission tickets will be sold until gone. Entry includes a full Irish buffet dinner, wine bar and dancing. The event at Harrah's Tahoe on March 13 will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
