Voters approve Measure R, two new STPUD board members

It expands the South Lake Tahoe Recreational Facilities Joint Powers Authority's use of Measure S funds to include the renovation of bike trails and makes improvements to ball fields. TahoeChamber.org would like to thank all those who took the time to nominate a business or individual for the 4th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards. Over the four years that the awards program has been in existence, community participation and support has increased annually by leaps and bounds. This year brought in a record amount of nominations, which resulted in over 100 businesses and individuals being nominated for the eight different award catagories.

South Tahoe Public Utility District - Candidate Forum

Employees of STPUD will be sponsoring a candidate forum from 7pm-8:30pm at the District offices, located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive in South Lake Tahoe.
This year there will be two Board seats up for election. They will serve four-year terms lasting through December 4, 2015.
Elections will be conducted November 8, 2011. ElDorado County Elections Department handles the election process. Questions about the election process should be referred to the Placerville office at (530)621-7480.

Amid voting for favorite websites, blogs, restaurants, American Idol contestants and more, residents of South Lake Tahoe have the opportunity to vote in an actual public election. Elections for the Lake Tahoe Community College board, the Lake Tahoe Unified School District board, the South Tahoe Public Utility District board and a ballot measure regarding recreation funds will all be decided by voters on Nov. 8.
