Tahoe Family Solutions announced today that they have received a $25,000 grant from United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra to address the fast growing need for affordable mental health care throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin and surrounding communities in Nevada and California. Tahoe Family Solutions services in providing affordable psychiatric care and family counseling were rated as a top priority by UWNNS’s board and volunteers.

As we near National Heart Month, February, its only fitting that Barton Health introduces its latest piece of prosperity — heart care and their latest addition to the medical team, cardiologist, David Young.
“Patients (in the Lake Tahoe Basin) now have access to a cardiovascular specialist in their own community,” Dr. Young said.

Whether you’re heading down Echo Summit or going up Kingsbury Grade, driving in Tahoe has its own set of challenges. Your vehicle does experience stress as it climbs steep grades as well as those moments of tricky navigation during periods of heavy snow. One element to driving at Lake Tahoe that should never be overlooked is the need to have good tires on your vehicle. You should check your tires for wear at least once a month and before and after long trips.
