Week full of virtual activities for 50th anniversary of Earth Day

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - There will be no Earth Day Celebration festivals around the lake this year, but Lake Tahoe and Truckee event organizers have created a virtual version with daily activities for the whole family.

Despite the current global situation, everyone can still celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day thanks to the team at The Tahoe Fund spearheaded a group via their Take Care program that has provided daily activities and challenges for students and parents to participate in over the course of the week.

Enjoy a fun and creative night out while showing your support for The Sugar Pine Foundation. "Relax, Sip and Paint" a beautiful and unique 16" x 20" canvas of an eagle perched in a sugar pine tree, overlooking Tahoe's majestic mountains. We will also have an auction and raffle with great prizes!

Help needed planting Sugar Pine trees in South Lake Tahoe

The fall planting season for the sugar pine tree is underway around Lake Tahoe. The public is invited to join the Sugar Pine Foundation in any (or all) of their four scheduled plantings.

Sugar Pine Foundation Has Busy Planting Season Ahead

The Sugar Pine Foundation's goal is to save the Sugar Pine and White Pine trees from blister rust in Lake Tahoe by educating and and involving the community in hands-on forest stewardship.

The group has several opportunities this fall to help save the trees by planting seedling in areas around the lake. 850 seedlings have already been planted this fall and more will be planted at the following events:

Sugar pine tree multi-media presentation

A free multi-media presentation, What You Can Do to Help Reforest the Tahoe Basin with Magnificent Sugar Pine Trees, will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Timber House Restaurant, Lakeside Inn & Casino.
Participate in upcoming www.SugarPineFoundation.org planting events and free guided hikes. Listen to dynamic speaker Maria Mircheva, executive director of the Sugar Pine Foundation while enjoying the famous $5 "Tahoe's Best Breakfast Special."
