Catch Handel's Messiah this season in the Lake Tahoe area

TOCCATA–Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is concluding their 13th season with a holiday production of Handel's Messiah, and there are several chances around Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada people can catch this classic.
Along with the seasonal carols the group will be performing the audience is encouraged to join in singing.
Vocal Soloists for these perfromances will include: Sopranos Joy Strotz, Maria Arrigotti, Anne Davidson and Becky Earl; Mezzo Soprano Jenna Sims; Tenors Brad Perry and Robert Bousquet; and Baritones Stuart Duke, Emzy Burroughs and Chris Nelson.

Submitted by paula on Mon, 11/12/2018 - 6:15pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Rockefeller Center in New York City has a Christmas tree as a backdrop for all holiday activities in the Big City since 1933, and now South Lake Tahoe is starting what hopes to be an annual tradition. Standing at 60-feet, the local version isn't quite as big as their neighbor on the East Coast (which runs 60-100 feet and can weigh close to 30,000 pounds), but it serve as a place to warm hearts and be a center of holiday photos and fun.

Since coming to Lake Tahoe, she has jumped into the community with great energy and commitment. For example, she is an adjunct faculty member of Lake Tahoe Community College and co-teacher at Tahoe Parents Nursery School with Aileen Yure and Jennifer David. She served as member of the Sierra House Elementary PTA Board as a co-grant coordinator, classroom volunteer, and also volunteers with the Coalition for the Homeless and Warm Room Advisory Council.

Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus kicks off its 10th Summer MusicFest with “Going For Baroque-Summer Solstice Series” June 17 thru 23. The program opens with Vivaldi’s Concerto for Violin and Cello, RV 547, with Natalie and Nick Haines as soloists, and continues with flutist Josue Casillas performing Vivaldi’s Concerto for Flute #428 “Goldfinch”. Other soloists include Yuri Liberzon, guitarist, performing Vivaldi Concerto RV 82, and harpist Marina Roznitovsky performing Vivaldi Concerto #540. The concert concludes with J.S.

Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus concludes the 2013 Tahoe Summer MusicFest with a concert series commemorating the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.
The series features famed violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn performing Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin in D major Op.61 on the legendary Red Stradivarius Violin. The concert will conclude with Mozart’s symphonic choral masterpiece, Requiem, featuring vocal soloists and the Tahoe Symphony Chorus.

The Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation’s second annual Taste of Gold fundraiser will be Saturday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the College’s Ledbetter Terrace and Demonstration Garden.
It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for the LTCC Foundation, with proceeds going directly to support academic programs and student scholarships and achievement.
