New bicycle path part of plan to connect all of Lake Tahoe with trails

A one-mile section of new multi-use path at Stateline, Nev., near the South Shore casinos, was unveiled to the public Thursday, June 20, 2013, marking the beginning of what will eventually become a system of trails that circumnavigates the lake.

The Tahoe Transportation District will host its second public workshop to discuss the US 50, Lake Tahoe South Shore Community Revitalization project, Wednesday, November 7, at Embassy Suites from 1-3 p.m.
The Lake Tahoe workshop will provide background on the project, outline goals and solicit input from individuals throughout the community. The open house format allows for members of the community to participant in the workshop anytime between workshop hours.

If the TTD took the $70 Million that they say it will cost to build the loop road and fix up the area they would still have enough over to give us a free bus system like most of the other resort towns. They are not alleviating any traffic flows or amount of cars only diverting them faster to Nevada. How is diverting the traffic helping the traffic situation, we will still have the same amount of cars on the road. I have said this before about other things done to us by our Government agency’s doing what’s best for them and us(mostly them).

Loop road poop road, you do realize that the state is going to do what they want, how they want and when they want with concerns to the Loop road. This is probably the best chance we have to get out of our financial obligation with regards to pensions, healthcare, unsound financial decisions, raising taxes, giving away the keys to the city to every con artist around and quite possibly the clap.
Lake Tahoe pilot bus service to run from Incline Village to Sand Harbor

A collaboration of the Tahoe Transportation District, the Nevada Division of State Parks, Nevada Department of Transportation, Nevada Highway Patrol and Washoe County School District will inaugurate the East Shore Express, a pilot Park and Ride bus service beginning June 15 through Sept. 3, 2012.
Open house to present Incline to Sand Harbor transit service

The forum will introduce the East Shore Express, a proposed shuttle from Incline Village to Sand Harbor Beach State Recreation Area this summer as well as updates on the North Demonstration Bikeway, a 3-mile off-road path between Incline Village and Sand Harbor.
New bus shelters sprout up in South Lake Tahoe area; more on the way

The operator of BlueGo, the South Lake Tahoe area public transportation system, has installed four new bus shelters in the city with plans for three more in early 2012 to provide additional safety, convenience and comfort for riders.
Tahoe bike path projects secure $4.5 million in grants

Funding of $4.5 million for two bikeway projects at Lake Tahoe, Nevada has been secured by the Tahoe Transportation District through the Nevada Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Transportation, according to a news release. Development of a 3.2 mile segment between Stateline and Round Hill at South Shore — part of an eventual 43 mile route along U.S.
