Skibum column: Getting stuck in the traffic of life

If the TTD took the $70 Million that they say it will cost to build the loop road and fix up the area they would still have enough over to give us a free bus system like most of the other resort towns. They are not alleviating any traffic flows or amount of cars only diverting them faster to Nevada. How is diverting the traffic helping the traffic situation, we will still have the same amount of cars on the road. I have said this before about other things done to us by our Government agency’s doing what’s best for them and us(mostly them). You do realize that this Loop Road will go through no matter what our City decides and we will have an influx of “created jobs” for everyone but locals. Job creation by the Government is not creation but perpetuation of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different or better results, kinda like insanity.

Interesting how CalTrans is promising to take care of the traffic signals in town by telling us that it’s part of their plan for the next several years but there is a definite lack of funding. Where did they think the funding was going to come from when they raised the speed limit to change the underground traffic light sensors in the road that are required to be changed and moved on all lights when there is a change in the speed limit. The City of Glendale actually fought the speed limit being raised and won. The problem with us is we are to easily rolled upon by our agency’s and government. It’s easy to roll over someone when we are already lying down.

I love the fact that the Forestry department is bragging about all the grants they have to clean up the forest around here to make us fire safe and prevent another Angora. Have you gone down Pioneer trail and seen the slash piles? There were grants out there already and they were working like the Nevada Fire Safe Council. That was a program that tricked all the Fire Departments, local contractors and residents to do something. That program is over now and it was only in place so they could justify doing their own work thus helping “creating” jobs to help the economy. The only job creation by the Government is for the Government and their bureaucracy of over pensioned workers. There are no jobs out there other than the ones created for the existing government workers. I still haven’t gotten the memo where everything is better nor the memo telling the actual wages of all the workers returning to work. Unemployment is down because the benefits are over, people are going back to work but for half the wages and no benefits and now we have to work 3 jobs instead of 2.

If I didn’t know any better I would say that there really is a conspiracy theory against the Bum by “they” out there that I have pointed my proverbial digit to report the truth as to what really happens in this town. Now a lot of people don’t like the way I present the “facts” as they are but if you read between the bullsh*t I sometimes spout, the truth is there and I can back it up with facts as I do my homework. I don’t believe in Karma (I believe in $h*t happens), One Divine whatever, Darwin’s Theory or the Loch Ness Monster. However, I (Family & Business) have quite an interesting couple of past years. I have managed to lose a son, mother and father in-law, our dog, all my credit cards and credit, a $450,000.00 building along with about $150K in life’s savings and one of my fingers. Business is not much better as I am down over 70% due to the economy, a public agency that rhymes with poopid threatening me with a lawsuit then publicly misrepresenting what I said then telling me I was correct privately but only after they and my own editor threw me under the bus, every alphabet agency in the state either auditing me or fining me to the tune of over $30,000.00 to which I have fought, won and still get fined because it justifies their job, losing jobs to unlicensed contractors and now TJMAXX is bringing in their own crews rather than locals. Business and personal problems have been compounded also because when I was at Lt. Les Lovells retirement party the “roaster” decided to tell everyone there (by everyone I mean all local law enforcement, Dea, Gang Task Force, Judges, Attorney’s and most public agencies including the city) that I was part of a gang and he was glad I didn’t wear my Red and White colors. Very bad taste. My articles have brought me a lot of heat and this is the only forum that I have to report the truth or offer opinion as I have been thrown off the online news site that touts “Free Speech” yet continues to censor and is one step away from becoming The Tahoe Enquirer, they should really stick to the news as it is an informative site. Ain’t crying the Blues it is what it is and Dat’s Dat. I picked a bad time to give up Heroin. Guess my choice of drug is KAOS. lol

Anything good to say this month?? Actually yep. Pine Cone Motel, KRLT and The Tahoe Valley Campground is having their Tahoe Mountain Faire August 11th and 12th at the campground located on Melba Drive behind Passereti’s. There will be a multitude of activities to include: Carnival Games, Local Bands, Arts and Crafts, Bounce House for the kids and the Bum as well a showcase of local business’s.
