The art league has been a vital part of the Tahoe art scene since its formation in 1964 and has offices and a newly renovated gallery at 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.

Internationally acclaimed illustrator and muralist joins South Tahoe High students
Submitted by paula on Tue, 04/30/2019 - 10:45amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Not only did internationally acclaimed illustrator and artist Rafael López came to South Lake Tahoe last week to speak to local first graders during Gift of Literacy day at Lake Tahoe Community College, but he also stopped by South Tahoe High School (STHS) and worked with students on a large mural.
In just six hours López showed the students how to create not only a work of art from several large blank panels, he also showed how to create community by collaboration and teamwork and celebrate diversity, literacy and aspiration.
2018 Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival schedule announced
Submitted by paula on Tue, 05/08/2018 - 9:43pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The coming months at the historic Valhalla Grand Hall, Grand Lawn and Boathouse Theater will be busy with a full slate of activities planned for the 2018 Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival.
The festival is Valhalla Tahoe’s flagship event, a unique celebration of music, theatre and the visual arts. The festival is set against the magnificent backdrop of Lake Tahoe and the Tallac Historic Site. Looking forward to its 34th year, it is produced by Valhalla Tahoe.
The Festival begins in mid-June with events and activities that continue throughout August.
Project takes STHS grad on journey through family's experience with mental illness

Santa Cruz, South Tahoe High grad Daniel Kagan used something many wouldn't have thought of, his brother's mental health records.

December 17, 2016 - 5:30pm Join South Tahoe High's Performing and Visual Arts Booster Association this Saturday, December 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for their annual PABA Gala, just before the evening's performance of White Christmas.
This is a great event for the entire family. There will be Holiday Cookies and treats by Cakes by Grace, Don Ewing, The Flour Girl, Sugar Pine Bakery and Starbucks, as well as egg nog, cider and hot chocolate.
It’s a Wonderful Life will be playing in the viewing room and Santa will be there for the kids to take photos with.

“PANORAMA: Selections from the Nevada Arts Council’s Artist Fellowship Program,” the third in a series of traveling exhibits showcasing the recipients of the agency’s Artist Fellowship Award in the visual arts. PANORAMA features twelve exceptional artists and brings Nevada’s statewide artist landscape into view. Each contributing Fellow has demonstrated mastery of process and medium in producing a significant body of work.

Wa She Shu It Deh Native American Arts Festival

The basket weaving competition features over fourteen different categories. The Washoe are highly regarded for their master craftsmanship of baskets and have had several well-known weavers throughout their history, including Dat So La Lee.
