A four-hour interview of homicide suspect Sean Purdy in Reno Friday night has led to the discovery of the body of his father, 52-year-old Lance Purdy of Pine Grove, Calif.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - A months-long investigation into drug activity in Douglas County has resulted in the arrest of a Minden, Nevada man.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Street Enforcement Team (DCSET) served a search warrant at the Esther Way home of Robert Wilson. Inside they found almost $10,000 in cash, five pounds of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 21 firearms and a marijuana THC extraction lab with approximately seven pounds of a marijuana extract.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev.- The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public, especially our senior population to be aware of a recent telephone scam being reported to the Sheriff’s Office. This advisement was issued in July of this year, however the Sheriff’s office is receiving reports the calls continue. Unidentified callers are telling the person answering the phone they have a warrant issued from the Sheriff’s Office or another Federal Law Enforcement Agency. The scammer is seeking large sums of money, generally $2000 to $5000 be sent via the mail in the form of pre-paid gift cards.

STATELINE, Nev. - Two local residents were arrested early Tuesday after a months-long narcotics investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Street Enforcement Team and State of Nevada Tri Net Investigators.

Timothy Hecox, 61-years-old, and Holly Anderson, 50-years-old, both of Stateline, Nevada, were arrested after a search warrant was served at 169 Faris Court #8 on July 17, 2019. They were booked for trafficking of narcotics and several other drug-related charges.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Another telephone scam is being reported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and they want to make sure residents, especially the senior population, are informed.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The following are the call logs for the South Lake Tahoe Police Department May 22-28, 2019. Officers have seen a large influx of transient/homeless calls, burglary, theft, and location checks in the city hot spots. Some of the "regular" transients have returned to the basin for the summer, creating some additional illegal camping warnings, trespass arrests and warnings, and public intoxication calls.

ARRESTS:
41-year-old male arrested for felony domestic violence and on a warrant out of Santa Clara County for failure to appear.

1:00 PM UPDATE: More information has been released in the arrest of Christopher Wadstein in Sacramento. Police found almost a pound of methamphetamine in the fire after his truck burst into flames.

Wadstein is a long time South Lake Tahoe resident with arrests dating back to his teenage years. Lt. Shannon Laney said their first file on him was in 2001. His previous convictions range from drugs and vandalism to kidnapping and weapons
charges. He is also believed to be a skinhead white supremacist prison gang member according to SLTPD.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) received numerous calls from the public on Tuesday evening at approximately 5:00 p.m., alerting them to a reckless driver in a Honda running stop lights and speeding on Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

As officers responded and attempted to locate the vehicle and its driver they got a report of a Honda crashing into another vehicle in a driveway near the 900 block of Macinaw Rd.
