Residents appointed to South Lake Tahoe commissions

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - As part of their annual tasks the South Lake Tahoe City Council today appointed locals to several boards. In some cases there were not enough applicants while in the case of the planning commission, more applied that the number of open seats.

Seven applications were received for the appointment of five members to the Planning Commission. Selected were incumbents Diana Madson, Kili Ongoy and Jenna Palacio along with new members Natalia Wieczorek and Mason Hibbard.

Four applications were received for the appointment of at least three but no more than five members to the Building Board of Appeals. Keith Klein and Natalia Wieczorek were selected and new applicants will be sought for the vacancies.

Three applications were received for the appointment of one lay person to serve on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Advisory Planning Commission on behalf of the City Council. Serves a two-year term and was Bruce Grego selected.

The City Clerk did not receive applications for the Airport Land Use Commission and they will re-solicit applications.

Six applications were received for the appointment of seven members to the Parks & Recreation Commission. All were approved and the Council will ask the public for more applications to fill the last remaining seat. Jerry Bindel, Jennifer Boyd, Peter Fink, Steven Noll will be returning along with newcomers Taylor Currier and David Gregorich.

Three applications were received for the appointment of five members to the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee of Measure P. The Council has decided to solicit for more applications to get more interest from the community.
