Three arrested in South Lake Tahoe after $30,000 robbery

1/26/15 8 p.m. update:

Douglas Country Sheriff's Deputies (DCSO) and officers from the South Lake Tahoe and Roseville Police Departments contacted several Stateline, NV residents as part of a follow up investigation after a robbery in Roseville on Saturday.

The investigation took DCSO to an apartment located at 172 Michelle Drive where a search recovered about 200 grams of marijuana and $15,000 in cash which was money reportedly stolen from the Roseville victim. According to Douglas County Sheriff's office, the investigation revealed the robbery was committed during a drug deal and not because of a Craigslist car deal gone bad as initially reported by the victim.

Dylan Sapsford, age 25 from Stateline, Nevada was arrested as a fugitive from California and for Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale and is being held in the Douglas County Jail on a bail of $25,000 for the local charge.

A second suspect in the robbery, Jeremy Wood, was detained but later released pending the issuance of an arrest warrant from California.

The third suspect was arrested in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday evening. He was released from El Dorado County Jail where he was being held on a $52,000 bail.

Three men were arrested in South Lake Tahoe after a strong arm robbery on Saturday, January 24 in Roseville, CA. The Roseville Police Department responded to the robbery where they found a victim who was reportedly beaten and robbed by three suspects who stole $30,000 in currency. The victim claims he was responding to a Craigslist ad for the purchase of a car.

During the investigation, Roseville Police received information that the suspects were in the South Lake Tahoe area.

On Sunday, January 25 the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) identified the three suspects involved with assistance from Roseville PD and Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

One of the suspects, Jeremy Wood, was employed as a security guard at Lakeside Casino and was arrested on site, without incident.

Further investigation lead another SLTPD officer to locate the vehicle identified in the robbery, driving toward the casino corridor on Lake Tahoe Blvd. A traffic stop was performed on the vehicle, where another suspect, Dylan Sapsford, was arrested.

The third suspect, Eric Anderson, was arrested as a result of a search warrant on his residence. In addition to the robbery charges Anderson was also charged with cultivation of marijuana.

A substantial amount of cash has been recovered.
