Maddie Bowman wins gold; Jamie Anderson silver in XGames

All three runs for South Lake Tahoe's Maddie Bowman in the Women's Ski SuperPipe X Games today beat all competitors on the course, earning her a fourth straight gold medal in the event. The 22-year-old Olympic gold medalist has also won a silver and bronze in the X Games.

Bowman scored a 85.33 on her first run Friday, followed by a 87.33 and 89.00. Second place finisher Ayana Onozuka of Japan ended up with a high run of 85.00. Bronze medalist Annalisa Drew of the USA had an 83.00.

Bowman had right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) microfracture surgery in February of 2015 and hadn't competed until this month.

South Lake Tahoe's Jamie Anderson also medaled Friday during the X Games, bringing home silver in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle. She is the most decorated rider in X Games Slopestyle history, with 11 medals, including 4 gold.

Anderson was the 2014 gold medalist in slopestyle's Olympic debut. That same year, she won ad ESPY for Best Female Olympian.

During Thursday's X Game action, Sierra-at-Tahoe's Kyle Smaine competed in the Men's Ski SuperPipe. He finished in ninth place, right behind Olympian, and Reno resident, David Wise.
