South Tahoe High Skiers Take First at High School Ski Races at Heavenly Valley

Skiers from Whittell, South Tahoe, North Tahoe, Incline, Truckee, Carson and Douglas High Schools met on the slopes at Heavenly Valley on Tuesday for the High School Slalom Races.

South Tahoe High's Connor McKeen came in 1st in the boys' races with a total combined time of 1:01.79. Grant Dunkelman of Douglas came in 2nd at 1:02.98 followed by Harrison Goss of North Tahoe 1:03.55.

Maia Bickert from South Tahoe High came in 1st in the girls' races with a time of 1:02.96, followed by Cheyenne Brown of Truckee with a time of 1:04.86 and Laurel Taylor of Incline at 1:07.66.

Boys Slalom

The top finishers from Whittell High School were Max Primo (40th), Hilton Atherton (41st), Kai Mangiaracina (43rd), Trinity Dickinson (45th), Chris Evans (47th), Scott Harrison (51st).

Crossing the finish line after McKeen in both races from South Tahoe High were Chad Kaassamani (6th), Grant Fagen (7th), Grant Swift (10th), Austin Allen (13th), Tristan Deatherage (16th), Alec Bowman (17th), Noah Palmieri (22nd), Trent Leonard (23rd), Lakota Wright (35th), Lex Merrifield (36th), Byrce Kortge (38th), Noah Solomon (39th), Logan Brewer (49th), Nick Coolbaugh (53r), Jackson Kuzmik (55th).

Girls Slalom

Whittell had three skiers place in the top ten, led by Danica Bunnett in 5th place, followed by Michael Gardner in 7th and Madison Idso in 10th. Following them were Katherine Krolicki (17th), Cameron Cegila (35th), Jenny Shepack (38th) and Melissa Petty (40th).

Following Maia from South Tahoe High were Katie Sears (4th), Natalie Allen (12th), Rose McDonough (16th), Sierra Bedwell (18th), Mikaela Clothier (19th), Abi Killebrew (23rd), Ayden Williamson (26th), Mikela Mangiaricina (27th).

The finals will be held at Squaw Valley on February 24 and 25.
