Viking Corner: This week at South Tahoe High

In School

Students from South Tahoe High School are back from their Presidents’ Day break just in time for Advanced Placement, SAT and ACT tests to begin. The SAT exam takes place on March 9, while the ACT test is scheduled for April 13.

With the constant snow, the some of the students at STHS said they’re feeling the effects.

Alex Boyko, junior, said the miserable weather has made him a lot sadder recently.

Sophomore Zoe Brosch said that she’s been feeling bad, too. “When it rains, it makes me sad. When it snows, I feel bored. But when it starts getting sunny, I feel happy and energized,” said Zoe.

Senior Alex Kasper said “makes me angry, I hate snow.”

In Sports

The STHS boys’ golf team began swinging their clubs this week. The first tournament is at Spring Creek Golf Course on March 5.

The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams have also started practicing for their upcoming meets.

Both the baseball and softball teams are sorted and practices began Monday. Baseball’s first varsity game is at Lowry on March 8. Softball’s first varsity game is at North Valley on March 15.
