LTCC Foundation and SLT Rotary host 'Off the Wall' Art Auction

The Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation and Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe are teaming up once again for the fourth annual “Off the Wall” Art Auction at LTCC. Participants can enjoy works of art created by locally and regionally known artists, bid on their favorites, and support local education and charitable organizations, all at the same time.

The artwork up for auction is being donated by a number of local artists, including nationally known artist and LTCC Art Department Chair Phyllis Shafer, David Russo, and many other Art Department faculty members.

Participants can first view the art at a free Auction Kickoff Celebration on Monday, March 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Haldan Art Gallery, located inside the library building on the LTCC campus. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the art, drinks and hors d’oeuvres, free of charge. Auction items can also be viewed from Tuesday, March 24 through Friday, March 27 in the Haldan Gallery. Hours will be from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.

The “Off the Wall” Auction Night is Saturday, March 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in LTCC’s Haldan Gallery. A silent auction will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., then a live auction takes over from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is a $10 charge at the door to attend and bid at the auction, which includes drinks and lots of hearty appetizers.

All of the proceeds from ticket and art sales will be split between the LTCC Foundation and the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe. The LTCC Foundation contributes to student success by providing student scholarships, a textbook lending program, and direct financial support to academic programs at LTCC. The Rotary Club performs a number of hands-on services and financial support to various schools and charitable organizations throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin.
