Weather - South Lake Tahoe will have a high today of 42 and a low tonight of 22. Today: A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Windy, with a west wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Heavenly - Powder. 18" New Snow in last 24 hours. Base depth is 102". Winds will affect operations today. As of right now, we do know The Gondola & Tamarack Express will be starting on windhold. They plan to have 50% of the mountain open with 15 lifts and 50 runs open. Lift status. A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Strong and damaging winds, with a west wind 60 to 65 mph decreasing to 50 to 55 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 95 mph. Lift status.SSnow showers before noon. High near 36. Breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. We are looking at snow-safety holds on all front-side lifts as Patrol gets out for their rounds. Winds are 45/50mph on the ridges so expect a few wind-hold challenges as the low pressure moves east and the high pressure ridge sets in.
As of 0700: Chairs 2,3,4 & Vista are on a wind- snow safety hold , Chairs 1,5,6,7,9 & 11 are scheduled for 9am. Chair 10 – wind- snow safety hold – TBD
