South Tahoe High Baseball team riding a seven game win streak

After a slow start, Coach Starbuck Teevan and his varsity baseball team from South Tahoe High have won their last seven games, bringing their league record to 7-3. The Vikings are now 4-0 at home after their opening home stand March 27-31.

The team hosted Truckee High School Friday afternoon, and for two games on Saturday. South Tahoe beat the Wolverines 4-1, 9-5 and 15-3. They also beat Dayton on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 10-7.

The other three wins in this streak were from games against Sparks March 20-21. They beat the Railroaders by scores of 10-5, 8-6 and 6-5.

In the Dayton game, Junior Paul Hoefer batted 1.000 as he went 4 for 4 with four hits, two runs, three RBIs and two doubles. Seniors Dakota Lynch and River Quinn both went 3 for 4. Runs were scored by Logan Brewer (2), Kolby Eymann (1), William Mori (2), Aaron Pfister (1) as well as Hoefer and Quinn's two.

Lynch also earned a win from the mound after pitching four innings. Garret Harley and Caleb Russell also saw action at the pitching position.

So far, the Vikings have scored 106 runs in 2015. Lynch has batted in 22 of them with his 21 hits. Eymann has scored 21 times and he has 10 hits on the season. The best ERA on the team is held by Lynch with his 3.08.

Next on tap in the Viking's schedule is Lowery. STHS does the traveling to Winnemucca for a three game series April 3-4. They play the 2-7 Buckaroos at 3 p.m. Friday and again at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
