Four new COVID-19 cases for El Dorado County; One South Lake Tahoe case drops off

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were four new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, three in El Dorado Hills and one in Placerville. The total went from 25 to 28 though due to one case in the South Lake Tahoe region dropping off.

Originally one person identified as a Tahoe-area resident on Monday actually was not and lives elsewhere.

There are currently 28 confirmed cases in the county:

El Dorado Hills - 10
East Slope (including South Lake Tahoe and Meyers) - 9
Placerville - 4
Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Rescue - 3
North County - 2

The average age of residents in the county who have been diagnosed is 50-years-old.

To date, 860 people have been tested with 710 negative tests and 120 pending.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting the 5th COVID-19-related death in Washoe County. The deceased was a woman in her 50s and it is unknown at this time what part of the county she resided, or if she had any underlying health conditions.

Earlier Tuesday they reported 28 additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the county's total to 309. At the time there have been 31 recoveries and 28 hospitalizations.

The Regional Information Center covers the county from Incline Village to Reno and Sparks.

Quad Counties (Douglas, Carson City, Lyon, and Storey)

As of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, there have been 25 cases with 8 recoveries.

Carson City - 13
Douglas County - 8
Lyon County - 4
Storey County - 0

The three new cases on Tuesday:

A female Carson City resident in her 40’s
A female Douglas County resident in her 30’s
A male Carson City resident in his 20’s

Alpine County

There has been a total of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alpine County.

Placer County

There are now 115 confirmed cases in Placer County which includes part of the North Shore. So far, three deaths from the virus have been reported in non-Tahoe areas of the county. There are 27 hospitalizations (and six suspected cases) and nine (plus one suspected) are in the ICU.

Confirmed cases have been identified in the following areas. However, testing is still limited. The absence of a confirmed case in any specific geographic area does not mean that specific area does not have virus transmission — it just means a case has not yet been identified. Every Placer resident, regarding of where they live, is at risk of being exposed to the novel coronavirus.
