Full schedule of events in South Lake Tahoe this weekend

There is a full slate of events in South Lake Tahoe and the surrounding area this weekend. On Al Tahoe Boulevard, one can hit the Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show, Earth Day, and Ladies' Morning Out on Saturday.

The sixth annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 28-29, 2017 in the South Tahoe Middle School multipurpose room. A free children's planting area has been added to the two day show that runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m on Saturday. Dozens of local vendors.

Join members from the South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club (SLTYC) for an evening of chili tasting and bingo on Friday, April 28 at the SLTYC Clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. SLTYC would like to extend an invitation to South Lake Tahoe area residents and visitors to join them for the evening’s festivities. The clubhouse is located in the Tahoe Keys Marina at 2435 Venice Drive East on the second floor above the Harbor Master’s Office (building next to the Fresh Ketch). The ‘No Host’ bar with appetizers opens at 5:30 p.m. The Chili tasting and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Bingo and dessert follows. All of this for only $15!

Women of all ages can experience health and wellness activities that unite the body and mind at the sixth annual Ladies’ Morning Out on Saturday, April 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College.

The South Lake Tahoe celebration of Earth Day will be on Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bijou Community Park. Earth Day South Lake Tahoe style features a full day of education on ways to counteract global climate change through recycling and composting, alternative energy, water conservation, sustainability, and reducing our ecological footprint. For over a decade, volunteers from the Tahoe Earth Day Foundation have put on the event for all ages.

The People's Climate Change March in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, April 29 will bring together families and community members concerned with protection of climate and the environment, beginning at Lakeview Commons at 10:00 a.m.

Author and Sierra Nevada native, Gary Noy, returns to South Lake Tahoe to present an illustrated lecture on historical material from his newest book "Gold Rush Stories: 49 Tales of Seekers, Scoundrels, Loss and Luck" on Saturday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. at the Library.

Genoa Cowboy Festival, Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29, 2017 The Genoa Cowboy Festival is a wonderful blend of beautiful setting, entertainment, heritage and Western culture.

The Virginia & Truckee Railroad and Carson Valley Pops Orchestra are rolling out the history with a train ride from Carson City to a luncheon and orchestra performance at Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City on April 29.
