SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A semi-truck heading from Oakland, California to Dayton, Nevada rolled over at the Y in South Lake Tahoe Wednesday morning.
At 11:04 a.m., South Lake Tahoe Police and Fire Rescue Departments responded to the intersection of US50 and Emerald Bay Road to a call of a tractor-trailer rollover.
According to South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Shannon Laney, the driver of the semi was heading northbound on Emerald Bay Road when he took the right turn to go east on US50/Lake Tahoe Boulevard at a faster speed than the turn allows.
The truck turned onto its side, blocking two lanes of the road. The driver was able to climb out of the truck's cab and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Three tow trucks from Welcome's Auto were able to get the truck back on its wheels and tow it away.
The scene was cleared by 2:30 p.m.
Laney said the incident has been turned over to the CHP commercial division for an investigation.
