Benko Art Gallery celebrates with 2nd grand opening

The Benko Art Gallery is back for seconds, hosting its second Art Contemporary Art Opening on Saturday, May 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The night will start off with a two-piece string quartet, then a collaborative live painting with John Benko and Will Eichelberger. DJ TDub, will bring the DJ beats and onlookers can view new exhibited contemporary art including local favorites Chelsea Kosta, Jake Gillispie, MezWorks and Dylan Warren and many more! And more live music with band, Small Change Romeos will be finishing off the night for a full evening filled with live art, refreshments and live music!

Benko Art Gallery is also a temporary home for the infamous Union Mural Team. “The Union, is the definition of teamwork and collaboration in visionary art” remarks owner and co-curator, John Benko. The Union is a crafted of a team of core team of five artists, and nearly a dozen other well-known artists.

“This gallery is a place where people of all walks of life can come in, slow down, and actually absorb the full energy that an original piece of art creates, and get a little slice of the creators imagination, where you can form a connection with the piece” remarks co-curator, Chelsea Kosta.

The gallery is located in the new building adjacent to Applebee's at 3979 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.

All are welcome to stop in Monday-Friday from 10:00-6:00 p.m. and weekends from 11:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. The Benko Art Gallery plans to host juried art shows, lectures, art classes, and live music throughout the summer.
