On May 28, 2018, 18-year-old Rocky Beaty of South Lake Tahoe suffered a trampoline accident that broke his neck and was transported by medical helicopter to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Rocky, a student at Lake Tahoe Community College, remains hospitalized in Renown after breaking his C-6 and C-7. A bank account has been set up to cover medical expenses at El Dorado Savings due to mounting costs and unknown future care expenses but they do know it will be extensive.
Rocky's parents, Rob and Eddi Beaty, are South Lake Tahoe business owners, and have been with their son as next steps are decided.
"We're praying for miracles," said family friend Sherry Mlynsky.
Rocky, who was born in South Lake Tahoe, is not only a college student after graduating high school a year early, but is an active member at Sierra Community Church.
The name on the bank account is "Rocky's Road to Recovery" and donations can be dropped off at any branch of El Dorado Savings or mailed to the bank at 942 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
