SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A rollover crash during a rainstorm on SR88 Thursday afternoon sent all seven occupants to the hospital.
At 4:50 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a call of a crash one mile west of Pickett's Junction and SR89.
The driver of an eastbound 2013 Ford Explorer was caught in a downpour and the vehicle hydroplaned on the highway causing it to go down an embankment, overturning on the way. It landed on all four wheels.
Inside were five people over the age of 18, and two under. They were from Gardnerville and the San Jose area. All of them were transported to Barton Hospital with minor to moderate injuries according to Officer Jeff Gartner of the South Lake Tahoe CHP office.
Gartner said all occupants were wearing their seat belts.
