LTCC hires Nancy Harrison as new Foundation Chair

Lake Tahoe Community College leadership and the LTCC Foundation’s Board of Directors have hired a new Executive Director of the LTCC Foundation and College Advancement. After completing the interview process, the Foundation directors and LTCC Superintendent/President Dr. Kindred Murillo selected Nancy Harrison for the position. With the passage of Measure F in November 2014 and the $5 million donation from South Lake Tahoe resident Lisa Maloff in honor of her husband, Robert, college and Foundation leadership felt this was a critical time to get a strong director in place to lead LTCC’s fundraising efforts.

Harrison has been a resident of South Lake Tahoe for 23 years. She spent the past 16 years working at Stanford Sierra Camp on Fallen Leaf Lake as the Sales and Marketing Director. In that role, she organized and coordinated multi-day conferences for Stanford University and non-affiliated groups. Harrison also planned and directed two Stanford alumni retreats each spring. Harrison also spent the past three years as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Barton Foundation, and was recently elected chairperson.

“We felt that Nancy’s work experience with Stanford alumni and her volunteer work with the Barton Foundation gave her the perfect skill set to move into the leadership role for the LTCC Foundation,” said Dr. Murillo. “With her experience, high energy and enthusiasm, we are excited to have her aboard.”

LTCC’s Foundation just started its 21st year of raising funds to support educational excellence by assisting and encouraging investment in the development and growth of educational opportunities at the college. One of the Foundation’s signature programs is the “Foundation for the Future Scholarship,” which provides free tuition to LTCC for any George Whittell or South Tahoe High School graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
