Songs have a profound impact on human experience and culture. We associate specific songs with major events and experiences in our lives. Despite all this, songwriters are among the unsung heroes in the art world. But not at Valhalla. The annual Songwriter Celebration brings together songwriters from across the country to share their songs and stories.

Rick Shea is a songwriter, producer and guitar player from Los Angeles and a member of Dave Alvin's band The Guilty Men. Ernest Troost is a songwriter and composer of music for film, including cult classic Tremors, also from Los Angeles. Linda McRae is a Canadian songwriter living in Nashville perhaps best known for her tenure in the platinum-selling band Spirit of the West who also teaches songwriting in Folsom Prison. From the Native tribes and the free trappers to the Spanish Missions and Gold Rush, the Indians Wars, through the industrial revolution, the Great Depression and The Sixties to the present day.

The show is produced by husband and wife team, Writer/Composer/Producer Christina Lynn Martin and co-producer cowboy poet and balladeer Garnet "Butch" Martin who share the stage with classical/rock legend Martin Gerschwitz (Iron Butterfly and The Animals) performing the show's original music and songs of the eras.
