Man arrested as person of interest in Stateline burglary cases

The man wanted for questioning in a rash of burglaries in the lower Kingsbury and Stateline areas has been arrested.

Peter Quillian was arrested on Sunday, September 24 and is now in custody.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO), Quillian was arrested on a fugitive warrant out of South Lake Tahoe. They said at the time of arrest he allegedly was in possession of a hypodermic needle.

Since mid-August there have been several burglaries with losses or attempted burglaries from unlocked cars parked in driveways and on the street.

The losses included cash, wallets, a checkbook and and iPad.

One witness reported seeing a white male 5’10, wearing shorts and a tee shirt wearing a baseball cap, carrying a backpack, trying to open a car door on a surveillance recording.

DCSO identified Quillian as a person of interest on Friday, September 22.

At this time no court date has been set.
