Family friendly treats for Halloween

There are several safe trick or treat events going on around the South Shore on Halloween as well as thousands of homes to visit along city streets. Rain is expected as the sun sets so dress warm, stay dry, be safe and have fun!

Halloween Cove returns to the Beach Retreat & Lodge located at 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Kids will go from room to room getting treats, enjoy face painting, games, photos and music. Head for the courtyard of the hotel. It goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and it's free.

Treat Street has moved to the airport this year. The trick or treating and haunted house have moved inside because of the expected rain. There will be candy, pizza, hot cocoa, cotton candy, popcorn and s'mores as the kids travel from room to room seeking their treats. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free.

Village Center's annual Halloween Celebration will be held at the center (Raley's at Stateline) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Trick or treat from store to store. Free Jamba Juice smoothies for kids 8 and under. Free.

Halloween Carnival at Kahle Community Center from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Celebrate the spirit of make believe, a sense of community and “spooktacular” happenings, all under one roof. The festivities will include carnival games, lots of treats to guarantee a “bootiful” fun, safe and ghoulishly good time for all ages. The center is located at 236 Kingsbury Grade. Free.

During the day, Tot Spot will hold their annual holiday bash with professional Halloween makeup by Gina Stowell, games, costume competition, arts & crafts, cookie decorating and goody bags. At Tot Spot located at 1012 Al Tahoe Blvd. Cost is $10 per child, $5 for siblings.
