Family and pet-friendly Halloween fun in South Lake Tahoe

Halloween on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe will have something for all ages. Here are some activities for kids:

Lego Block Party at the South Lake Tahoe Library at 10 a.m. - Design, build, invent with Legos! Join us as we build with Legos and Duplo blocks. The whole family is welcome. Your Lego creation will be displayed in the library until next month’s Block Party when the fun begins again. All blocks will be provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Nightmare at the Museum - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the Lake Tahoe Historical Museum, get a treat and enjoy a free tour! The 1930s cabin will be open as well as the museum. Will you see Snowshoe Thompson, Frank Globin or a spirit or two from the 1800s tombstones?

Halloween Carnival Celebration at Kahle Community Center - 4:00 - 6:30 pm, Halloween Carnival Celebration Sponsored by Kiwanis of Lake Tahoe Sunrisers. Celebrate the spirit of make-believe, a sense of community and “spooktacular” happenings, all under one roof at Kahle Community Center on Halloween.

The festivities will include carnival games, lots of treats to guarantee a “bootiful” fun, safe and ghoulishly good time for all ages. Community groups invited to host or run a booth. For more information please call (775)-586-7271.

13th annual Treat Street - Trick or Treat in a safe, fun environment at the 13th annual Treat Street on Saturday, Oct. 31. In the Lake Tahoe Community College Gym where local businesses and non-profits hand out candy to children in a safe, controlled environment. Thousands of children have attended, decked out as superheroes, princesses, magicians and monsters.

This year's event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College Gym. Volunteers will be passing out candy, serving hot cocoa, pizza, cotton candy, popcorn and s'mores in and around the haunted house.

Indoor trick or treating, games, music, a mad scientist laboratory, spooky stories, a fortuneteller, and more surprises.

The free event is sponsored by KRLT 93-9, The KOWL 1490 and TahoeChamber.org.

Howl'oween Party - Not to be left out, our furry friends are invited to the Tahoe Best Friends Howl'oween Party. From 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. Costume party, dogs, kids and adults. Fun contests and prizes.
