Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason returns to Lake Tahoe with Feelin' Alright Tour

STATELINE, Nev. - For over 50 years, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dave Mason has been entertaining crowds, from his days as a founding member of Traffic, to his current days touring the world with his band.

The 73-year-old British rocker had to cancel his September 2019 performance in Lake Tahoe but he is now back on the road, bringing his "Feelin' Alight" tour to MontBleu on Saturday, November 2.

You could say Mason is coming home this weekend. Once a resident of Alpine Meadows, Mason now splits his time between his homes in Reno and on the island of Maui when not on tour, which still covers over 100 concerts a year.

He's been on stages around the world and still enjoys playing. When I caught up with him in 2017 as he was traveling from Oregon to Washington on his "Alone Together" tour, Mason said he is happy to be somewhere with a great audience. Those audiences aren't full of fans who grew up with his first band, Traffic, but all generations fill the seats and sing along to his hits.

That long list of hits includes Feelin’ Alright, Only You Know And I Know, Let it Go Let It Flow, We Just Disagree, All Along The Watchtower, World In Changes, Shouldn’t Have Took More Than you Gave and Show me Some Affection.

As an 18-year-old, Mason said he never thought about having a career that would take him to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "I really wasn't thinking of time, just doing what I loved," he said of the early Traffic days.

In March of 2004, Mason and his Traffic bandmates were inducted into the Hall of Fame along with Prince, George Harrison, Jackson Browne, ZZ Top and Bob Seger.

"It was nice to be recognized," said Mason. "That was an impressive line-up and experience."

Tickets are still available for Saturday's 8:00 p.m. performance at MontBleu. They start at $30 and can be purchased HERE.
