Despite injuries which sidelined several varsity players, the South Tahoe Vikings' girls soccer team beat Spring Valley Friday afternoon, earning them a spot in the state final for Division 1-A teams.
The final score was South Tahoe 3, Spring Valley 1.
Earlier in the day, Truckee lost to Faith Lutheran 2-1.
South Tahoe Vikings are looking to three-peat as the Nevada Division I-A State Champs, and a win on Saturday would give them four state titles in just five years.
The game against Faith Lutheran starts at 10 a.m. at South Tahoe High. Tickets are $10 each for adults, $5 for kids. Since this is a division game, South Tahoe Booster passes are not valid for admission.
