Thanksgiving weekend events to kick off holiday season in South Lake Tahoe

Thanksgiving is the kickoff to the holiday season, and once the feast is done there are some fun activities on the South Shore to enjoy.

Heavenly Village Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Heavenly Village for the first time ever on Friday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. The Heavenly Village is located in South Lake Tahoe at 1001 Heavenly Village Way. Ceremony includes carolers, music and special visit by Santa Claus, all until 9:00 p.m.

Indoor Christmas Market on Saturday, November 24 at South Lake Brewing Company from noon to 6:00 p.m. Wrap up Small Business Saturday by shopping at a variety of small businesses and vendors from the community who make hand-crafted artisan products. The Oven will also be provi, ding their delicious wood-fired pizzas, as well as oven-baked bread. Tree Lighting Celebration at Edgewood Tahoe on Saturday, November 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This Christmas themed soirée will feature live music, pictures with Santa, carolers, holiday cookie decorating, and more. This event is offered for Lodge guests and members of the local community, they just ask for RSVPs.
